Pickenpack Hussmann & Hahn
Pickenpack Hussmann & Hahn Seafood Company is one of Europe’s largest companies specializing in the production and marketing of private label deep-frozen fish. It was acquired in 2003 by SSVP. Both companies (one profitable, the other loss-making) were bought from different owners at the same time. As part of the transaction Hussmann & Hahn’s production location was closed and all machinery transferred to Pickenpacks’ production facility to fully exploit the synergies in the manufacture of deep frozen fish, in particular deep frozen fish fingers. Hussmann & Hahn’ management team took over the management of the whole group streamlining production and logistics as well as optimizing sourcing of fish. In 2006, the company was acquired by a group of Islandic investors together with management. In 2016 the operations were taken over and integrated by Seattle based Trident Seafood Corporation.
