Nordic Paper is a producer of special paper and was founded in the late 19th century. The company has 2 large product groups: Greaseproof paper and kraft paper. Greaseproof paper is mainly being used in cooking and baking in industrial and consumer applications, where it simplifies the work of chefs and bakers worldwide while improving hygiene level. Nordic Paper is the oldest and largest producer for greaseproof paper worldwide. Unbleached kraft paper is made from Scandinavian fibers and is primarily used in sacks and packaging solutions for food and non-food products as well as a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
The company is located in Scandinavia and operates four paper and two pulp mills at four locations in Sweden and Norway. The key markets for the company are Europe, the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia. SSVP III acquired a majority share in 2014. End of October 2017 Nordic Paper was sold to Anhui Shanying Paper, a listed Chinese Company at the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2001. Anhui Shanying Paper has a product portfolio of among others kraft paper and greaseproof paper and secured its entrance and footprint in the European and US-market through the acquisition of Nordic Paper.
